It's hard to believe that twenty years have gone by. I am fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to turn fifty one on this incredibly historic day. 343 of my brothers never got to see another birthday. You simply do not get any braver. When a firehouse has empty shoes in an empty station and half eaten meals at the kitchen table you know the boys are out doing something helpful for somebody. Every firefighter's wife knows what it's like to be at home alone and have a pit in their stomach. I truly thank all the wives, all the families, and all the people that support what we do. Most of all I thank everyone who gave their lives twenty years ago. True, true heroes, and please everyone never forget. Always stay safe...
